      The goal Bioethics is a new branch of "applied" or "practical ethics," which has developed since the 1970s. It records intense development and attracts great attention both scientific and philosophical circles. In developed countries for bioethics, wider public is interested. Interest in the fundamental issues of life (primarily in its biomedical, and then in the social sense), the protection of the rights of all forms of life, the new concept of medical ethics and a new attitude towards various aspects of contemporary human existence have determined that bioethics now becomes a field high hopes, but also theoretical controversy.
      The outcome The course should enable students to familiarize themselves with the basic directions of a contemporary discussion of various bioethical problems. Establishing opportunities for students to orientate themselves in contemporary bioethical discussions and questions. Forming an independent opinion on contemporary bioethical dilemmas and controversies.

      Contents of lectures The notion of bioethics; Reasons and circumstances of the emergence of bioethics; The problem of determining the subject of bioethics; Problem of Bioethics Method; Philosophical and axiological basics of bioethics; The power and power of bioethical expertise; Ethics vs. Bioethics ?; Medical ethics and bioethics as a new medical ethics; Basic problems of bioethics; Bioethics as an ecological ethics; Bioethics as "Animal Ethics" ?; Bioethical concept of life; Bioethics, genetics and prenatal diagnosis; Bioethics and Fullness (Abortion Problem; Fertilization Problem; Sterilization Problem); Problem of biomedical experiments in humans; The problem of organ transplantation; Euthanasia and dignity of death (Controversy of euthanasia; Right to euthanasia); Ethical dilemmas of eugenics; Biotechnology and addiction diseases; Bioethics and HIV infection; Gerontological ethics; Medicine in times of limited economic and financial resources.
      Contents of exercises The seminar focuses on the discussion by which students are directed to solving certain bioethical problems and paradigmatic cases.
