    The goal Introducing the components of the Hungarian folk culture, its features, phenomena and processes.
    The outcome With the accomplishment of the course the students acquire the knowledge the help of which they can analyse the relevant phenomena of the Hungarian literary and historical linguistics in the context of Hungarian folk culture.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The concept of folk culture. Research history of the Hungarian folk culture. Ethnogenesis of the Hungarian people. The Hungarian folk culture in Europe. Regions of the Hungarian folk culture. I.Society. Social arrangement of the Hungarian family, kinship, village, common work and community life II. Material culture. Settlement construction, folk architecture, farming (agriculture, stock farming). Lifestyle (nourishment culture). III. Intellectual culture. Folk art (national costume, ornaments, music, dance, folk-poetry). Folk customs. Folk belief system. Folk religiousness. Present and future of the Hungarian folk culture.
