      The goal Introducing the elements of the Hungarian cultural history, its features, processes, personalities and periods with special regard to the dual effect of the nomad and Christian culture.
      The outcome Acquisition of the fundamental knowledge summarising the processes of the Hungarian cultural history and its features.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Origin of the Hungarians. The nomad is a culture. Árpád dynasty. The Christian culture, the medieval Hungarian literacy. Anjou and Jagiellonian dynasties. The renaissance era: Bibliotheca Corviniana, the first book printed in Hungary. Protestantism and the vernacular culture coming into existence. Counter-Reformation and baroque in the Hungarian culture. Enlightenment and classicism. Habitat, settlements and houses in the new homeland. Town formation in Hungary. Life in the monarchy: crop and stock farming, regulation of the Danube, channels. National culture in the 19th century: literature, fine arts. Hungarian culture in the 20th century: musical art, film, theatre. Modern and postmodern.
