| The goal | Objective of the course: Acquiring basic theoretical knowledge of classical rhetoric with stylistics, as well as practicing students’ rhetorical prowess in the domain of written and spoken word (oratory and rhetoric). | |||

| Contents of lectures | Terms rhetoric and oratory; historical overview of development of rhetoric. Elements of classical rhetoric (rhetor, speech, auditorium). Materia artis, partes artis: inventio, dispositio, elocutio, memoria, actio: vox, corpus. Speech-act theory in practice. Officia Oratoris. Rhetoric-style-stylistics. Genus subtile, genus medium, genus grande. | |||
