    The goal Learning about variations of Hungarian language according to geographic distribution, recognizing and analyzing dialectal features which appear at certain language strata.
    The outcome Except for recognizing regional variations of language, students during practical classes acquire the methodology of dialect collection.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The concept of dialect, sociolect and idiolect. Regional standard language researches. Phonetic, morphological, syntactical, lexical and phraseological dialectal phenomena. Local dialect, groups of dialect, region of dialect islands. History of development of dialects in relation to social development. The system of contemporary Hungarian dialects. Characteristics of some types of dialects.
    Contents of exercises Presentation of Hungarian dialects in Bácska, Bánát and Szerémség districts (historical preconditions, colonization, language characteristics of some regions) based on sound recordings. Analysis of complex dialectal phenomena.
