    The goal The main objective of the course is to enable students to acquire basic knowledge in the field of text linguistics.
    The outcome After passing the exam, a student should be able to define the basic concepts in the domain of text linguistics, to point out the link(s) between the text linguistics and other, similar disciplines (rhetoric, literary theory, structural anthropology, stylistics, etc.), to explain different approaches to text analysis and to define the most important elements of the text structure.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The notion of "text" in everyday language and in (text) Linguistics; The influence of other disciplines on the emergence and development of the Text Linguistics; Textual parameters; Cohesion: the notion of reference and coreference, anaphora, deixis, connectives, and lexical cohesion; Utterance vs. sentence; Topic (Theme) vs. Comment (Rheme); Basic text functions
    Contents of exercises Analysis of different textual parameters; Analysis of different text types.
