Conference Held: Language and Social Sciences in Contact: the Challenges of Interdisciplinarity

On Saturday, 5^th October 2024, the Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Development of Researchers at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, organized the first international conference "Language and Social Sciences in Contact: the Challenges of Interdisciplinarity." The conference was established with the aim of highlighting the relevance of interdisciplinarity in science and its importance for acquiring new knowledge through the methodological, experimental, and interpretative linking of different scientific fields. A total of 89 participants from 35 institutions in 10 countries – Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Macedonia, Turkey, Germany, Spain, and the USA – registered for the conference. The presentations covered, among other topics, psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics, neurolinguistics, social psychology, gender studies, literary theory, media studies, and discourse analysis.
