    The goal Students learn about the process of development of South Slavic literature from the 19th century to the present.
    The outcome Knowledge about the similarities and differences in the development of the South Slavic literature and the skill of competent comparative analysis.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures South Slavic intercultural and literary context. Problems, issues, and goals in the South Slavic literature interpretation. Specificity of Romanticism, Realism, Modernism, Avantgarde, post-war literature and Postmodernism in South Slavic framework. Selected examples for comparative study (Prešeren-Mažuranić-Njegoš, Crnjanski-Krleža, Pekić-Zupan, Tribuson-Urošević, Ugrešić-Albahari).
    Contents of exercises Literary works familiar from the previous courses of Serbian, Croatian, Slovene, and Macedonian literature, as well as the works of Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Bulgarian literature, are analyzed in comparative context. Borislav Pekić: Godine koje su pojeli skakavci, Vitomil Zupan: Levitan, Aleko Konstantinov: Baja Ganjo, a selection from the anthologies of Macedonian, Bulgarian, Slovene, and Bosnian-Herzegovinian literature.
