    The goal Provide students with theoretical aspects of comparative literature and the long-range opportunities of comparative literary studies.
    The outcome Students receive intensive and advanced qualification. From the conventional comparative literary studies to interdisciplinarity.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The concept of the comparative literary studies, its fields of research, dynamic changes of culture, the question of intertextuality. Comparative and/or integrative ways. The literature of the Monarchy and Central Europe, the Habsburg-myth and the Danube-texts, between myth and anti-myth, the Monarchy as a topic and model, music and Monarchy-literature. Meeting of urban theories and cultures. Imagology and comparative literature, the national stereotypes. Bohemistics as field of research, Hungarian- Czech relations. The concept of Central Europe and highlighting some novels. Interdisciplinary researches of the 20thand 21stcenturies. The Gödelian turn: Gödel, Escher and Bach; Esterházy and the Gödelian change. Photo, film and literature. Translation and cultural context. Theoretical advance of mediality.
    Contents of exercises School narratives of the Monarchy. Text interpretations. Pictorial turn, iconic turn. The role of film contacts, video clips, and spectatorial sight. Literature and music, literature and other arts. The Gödelian turn and the Hungarian literature. Sport and literature. Literature and mediality, the interpretation of actual texts.
