    The goal After having created a historical point of view, students learn about the most important periods of the history of language. Observation and analysis of historical language changes in some of our written records.
    The outcome Students get an overview of periods in the history of language in their synthesis.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Periods in the history of Hungarian language, sources and their utilization. Types of records. Creation of the grammar system. Relations between dialects and written language, the creation of grammar system. Medieval Hungarian period and its public affairs. The beginnings of literary language and its vocabulary. The age of language revitalization. Ways of building vocabulary. Grammar and spelling.
    Contents of exercises Students autonomously elaborate and make a presentation on a language record. Practical work includes reading and comprehension of old texts; etymological analysis, as well as complex analysis of a shorter text.
