    The goal The objective of the course is to familiarize students with similarities and differences between Serbian and Hungarian in order to enable them to use both languages correctly, in accordance with the rules. The acquisition of the language of the social environment will be facilitated by analyzing potential problems and by studying interference.
    The outcome Ability to think contrastively and to analyze language systems and their use in contact. Fundamental understanding of the relationships holding between parts of individual language systems as well as between the two language systems contrasted.

    Contents of lectures The history of contrastive grammar and tipology, metods od contrastive analysis, bilinguism, language universals, typological rules; formal and actual equivalence; contrastive phonetics and phonology; morphology; semantics: semantic fields, connotation, motivated words; phraseology; syntax; textology; translation methods and problems of adopting a second language
