GeneralProfessor William Hayward from Lingnan University of Hong Kong visited the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad on 13 May 2026 as a guest of the Laboratory for Experimental Psychology. Professor Hayward, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Professor of Psychology, delivered an engaging lecture entitled “Idiosyncratic Eye-Movement Patterns When Viewing Faces” for members of the Laboratory for Experimental Psychology.
About the lecturer
Professor William Hayward is Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Professor of Psychology at Lingnan University.
Before joining Lingnan University, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong and Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Auckland. He also held teaching positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Wollongong.
Born in New Zealand, he completed his undergraduate and master’s studies at the University of Canterbury and earned his PhD in Psychology from Yale University.
Professor Hayward’s work focuses on cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience, with particular emphasis on how people understand the world around them through visual information. He has authored numerous articles published in prestigious scientific journals, led many research projects, organised major conferences, and supervised a large number of PhD and MA theses.
