The outcome | Upon course completion, students will be able to independently research adequate terminology in a field of specialized translation and to translate texts in a field of their own choosing, in cooperation with a subject field consultant. | |||

Contents of lectures | Introduction to paper and electronic terminological resources. Browsers and research operators. Analysis of form and distinctive markers of a specialist discourse. Differences between scientific discourse and popular science discourse. Preconditions of cooperation with a field-expert. | |||
Contents of exercises | Text analysis and translation of scientific and specialized texts and abstracts from domestic and foreign journals and books, textbooks, monographs, presentations and similar. | |||
